Modern Research and Competence Centre for Engineering Studies

Until 2014 Vidzeme  University of Applied Science will establish a modern complex of engineering studies, which will be equipped with the latest laboratory and research facilities and technologies. The centre will be accessible also to students with functional disabilities. The project is financed by ERDF, Latvian state and ViA.

The centre will be located in Valmiera, Terbatas Street 10. By implementing the project, we will strengthen capacity of ViA for elaboration of innovative, interdisciplinary research projects and study programs important for Vidzeme region. With the project we aim to increase product commercialization and knowledge transfer in different industries and, thereby, enhance the competitiveness of both traditional and non-traditional and innovative industries in Vidzeme, using modern technologies and creating new products and services with high added value.


Activities of the Project

·        Reconstruction and enlargement of the existing building in Terbatas Street 10,

·        Readjusting of the infrastructure for disabled persons;

·        Purchase of equipment, supplies and technologies for improvement of the quality of educational programs in priority studying sectors;

·        Modernization of the library;

·        Project information and publicity.
