Apply for Joint Master’s in International Tourism Events Management

Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences and Klaipeda University in Lithuania, in cooperation with other consortium partners is proud to announce the launch of new joint master's programme in International Tourism Events Management (ITEM). ITEM is the first master’s programme leading to a joint degree in tourism in Baltics delivered in English and preparing international tourism events managers by applying innovative study methods and ICT technologies. Study programme will admit its first students in September 2014.

The application for the new joint master is open from April 1 to July 8, 2014. Prospective students can find more information and apply through webpage: The students from EU/ EEA are also eligible to apply for state funded study placements.

The forward-thinking study content has been developed in close cooperation with industry and renowned tourism and event management education experts from Baltics, Manchester (UK) and Venice (IT). Some characteristics of the new programme include: integrated mobility and international dimension, close cooperation with industry, interdisciplinary approach and application of ICT.

ITEM programme teaching at Klaipeda University will be organized in Autumn semester in 2 periods:

1) on the 15 -27 th of September and
2) on the 10-22 th of November.

3) exams may be taken in November for those subjects taught in September and in January for subjects taught in November. Also there is a choice to take all exams in January.

This is a new teaching form at Klaipeda University and it is called full time-sessiona. That means short but intensive teaching session form.
