FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT OF EVENTS, FUNDING AND SPONSORSHIP

The course is designed to educate students in the financial management of tourism and events within Baltic region and global contexts. The aim of the study course is to provide knowledge on modern methods of financial management and instruments necessary in the strategic and operational management, planning and control of an enterprise, as well as to provide students with knowledge on various ways of risk analysis, financial mechanisms of risk management, evaluation of economic efficiency of various risk management methods, organization of risk minimizing (prevention) activities. Modern system of financial management of an enterprise consists of set of activities for better effectives.
To provide knowledge and training for students on how to achieve the aim of events with the most efficient way of fund raising and use, applying financial modeling.

Course contents:

  • General aspects of financial management. Components of annual report. Financial information. Methods of financial analysis
  • Management of working capital Miller – Ohr theorem
  • Concept of investment. Investment environment. Investment project cash flow and its analysis. Financial modeling.
  • Discounted cash flow method Net present value method internal rate of return method Payback period method
  • Investment assessment & risk Inflation, index of prices, tax policy
  • Analysis of sensitivity Analysis of variance Decisions Tree Identifying and evaluating risks. Strategies, tools for risk
