An Expert of USA Political Communication Will Deliver Lecture in ViA

On Saturday, May 30, Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences (ViA) will host the Associate Professor of George Mason University (USA) - Steven Farnsworth. He will give a lecture about the president of USA Barack Obama's first 100 days in his position as well as other issues of political communication.

Students and other interested can attend professor's lecture on Saturday, May 30, at 10 o'clock at ViA main building, Cēsu street 4, lecture-room Nr 229.

Steven Farnsworth is an Associate Professor of Communication Sciences in George Mason University where he lectures on political communication and journalism. He is an author of several books, the last one is called „Spinner in Chief: How Presidents Sell Their Policies and Themselves". Also he is an author of many articles about mass media, presidency, USA and the policy of State Virginia.

For ten years Farnsworth worked as a journalist, mainly for newspaper Kansas City Star & Times before he become university's professor. In a frame of different programs of USA government, he has done lecturing about media and election as well as leaded training for reporters in India, Philippines, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, and Armenia. Dr. Farnsworth has earned his PHD (1997) and master degree (1993) in management sciences in Georgetown University in Washington, DC.

During his visit in Latvia (28 May - 3 June) Steven Farnsworth will do lecturing about the president's of USA Barack Obama's first 100 days in White House to PR students in Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences, University of Latvia and in PR students summer camp that is organised by School of Business Administration "Turība".

Visit of Professor Steven Farnsworth in Latvia is organised by embassy of USA.
