Research and development

Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences Socio-technical Systems Engineering Institute was founded in July, 2006.

Research directions:

• Logistics information systems and RFID technologies;
• Business process modelling;
• Hybrid simulation modelling systems;
• Use of virtual and augmented reality in the training process.

In December, 2006, the explanatory dictionary "Logistics Information Systems" (in 4 languages - English, German, French and Spanish), was published: ISBN 9984-633-02-0, 1000 pages. The Logistics Information Systems and an RFID laboratory was created for joint professional and academic research.

The institute publishes Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences annual collection of scientific articles "ICTE in Regional Development".

Establishing of a virtual reality laboratory is under negotiation.
