Library
Valmiera Integrated Library was developed by merging Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences Library and Valmiera Central Library. Library reference and study reading-room is located on Cēsu Street 4 and is open for students and the general public.
The use of books is free of charge. The book collection focuses on Political Science, Business Administration, Tourism Organisation and Management, Information Technologies, Comunication and Public Relation and Baltic-related matters. The collection is made of more than 86 000 volumes in English, Latvian, Finnish, Norwegian, German, Swedish, Danish and Russian. 63 journals and 16 newspapers are available in Latvian as well as some in English (National Geographic, The Economist, Travel and Leisure, Newsweek, Linux Journal, Eurobusiness, Baltic IT and Review).
Valmiera library is also World Tourism Organization deposit library since 2003. The students may also use the full text databases EBSCO, Emerald, SAGE and other electronic resources which are available from all computers in the network. Library catalogues are available both in the local version and via the Internet. The library also offers printing, copying, comb-binding and scanning facilities (for a charge).
There are 23 computer work stations with Internet access that can be used free of charge for all students (8 for work with catalogues and 15 for individual work). Both wireless and cable Internet connection is available in the library.

IT Support
ViA provides students with computer hardware and software necessary for lectures and practical assignments, as well as the Internet connection. Computer labs are available in both university buildings. In total there are three labs with 95 workstations. Computers with the Internet connection are available also in the library.
All the university lecture rooms are equipped with computers and beamers. Access to internet is provided in student hostels by cable or wireless connection. Wireless Internet is also provided in both university buildings.
Each student receives a ViA e-mail account upon registration. The university e-mail is accessible by using Internet browsers from any place where there is a computer with the Internet connection.
The university widely uses e-study system punkts.va.lv which serves as a means of communication between students and lecturers. It provides the students with the latest information about the study process, access to study materials, home assignments, etc.
ViA has its own information intranet iekstikls.va.lv where one can find information from the administration and the academic departments, information about studies abroad, job advertisements and miscellaneous information.
